Introduction:

The basic principle of PV water pump system is to directly accomplish conversion from sun light energy to power through solar cell so that driving various of electromotors and pumps to fetch from wells, rivers, lakes and pools. It has many stongpoint such as no yawp, fully automatically, high stability, fine adaptation of water supply and evaporation. Technically, PV water pump system is a typical integrative system including “light, pump and electricity”, which involves the latest technologies in many subjects of solar power collecting, conversion, power electronics, electromotor, pumps and computer control etc, as a result,  It has been ranked as a priority and further development of high-tech by many countries. There are many countires in the Middle East and Africa expecting to take the new technology of the PV water pump system and water saving irrigation to change the droughty but with abundant groundwater area into oasis.    

 

 

 

 

Components:

1.       Photovoltaic array: PV array are made up of series-wound and shunt- wound solar cells. The function is to convert solar energy into DC power to load the pump.

2.       Control system: There must be a adapter to ensure a harmonious, high efficiency and stable operating state of the whole system. Mainly including the maximum power point tracker(MPPT), inverter and some protective devices.

3.       Pump selection: According to different requirements of flow rate and lift, economy and reliability, the user could choose the pump as the following three type pumps:

A: Volume pump: Low flow rate, high lift;  B: Diving pump: High flow rate, high lift;  C: Self-suck pump: High flow rate, low lift.
